I went to meet my mom for lunch today and Pish, Liz, Ryan, and Kennan were there to surprise me for my birthday. We ate at CPK and had dessert at Dairy Queen. yum yum

We had a great weekend in Palm Desert! A big THANKS to Jung and Chris for inviting us out to stay in their beautiful home.

On Friday morning, Pish, Randy, Katie and I headed out to the 112 degree weather in Palm Desert. When we got there, Chris greeted us with some delicious snacks. In the afternoon, the boys babysat Katie while Chris and I went to the spa for some massages at the Esmeralda at the Renaissance. It was great! I loved the eucalyptus steam room and the deep tissue massage. In the evening we picked up some food and played poker while we waited for Casey to arrive.

On Saturday, the boys woke up at 5am to go golfing at the PGA West course. They had an early 6am tee time to try to beat the heat. They would have taken some pictures at the beautiful course but someone (me…hehe) forgot to put the memory card back into the camera. OOPS! I think the boys still had a good time though. Meanwhile, the girls had fun too! After feeding Katie, I put her down for a nap and Chris and I went into the spool (spa/pool - which I have renamed to be the pacuzzi. I think that sounds better). It wasn’t too hot outside yet and the water was nice and cool. We even got in a morning workout by doing aerobics in the water. We did so much our arms were sore later. After lounging around, playing more poker and watching a movie with the boys we headed out to Haleiwa Joe’s for some Hawaiian food. Katie was very cooperative and slept through the whole dinner!

On Sunday we spent a little more time in the pacuzzi before heading out to Monterey Park for Megan’s 1st birthday party. Stay tuned for pictures from this weekend. I’ll try to upload them by tonight.

I got pooped on today.  Katie must have thought I was daddy….

After feeding, Katie was sitting on my lap and we were playing.  Next thing I know, I hear a really loud wet fart.  Usually she has more than one fart so I waited for more before going to change her diaper.  But within 30 seconds, I felt something wet against me.  I lifted her up and there was a huge brown spot on her back and there was poop on me!  This poop was so powerful it squirted up the back.  argh….gotta love our little pooper!

Lots going on lately.  Here’s some tid bits about what we’ve been doing.

- Katie is losing a lot of hair and has a mohawk.  She’s smiling more and trying to sit up.  She has also discovered her hands and tries to suck on her fists.

- We tried giving her rice cereal (only started with a small amount at night) to help her with her reflux and to see if she’d sleep longer at night.  So far I don’t think it has made a difference.

- The last two nights were a bit rough.  She kept waking up.  I’m not sure if it’s because she’s hot, she has gas, or what??

- We bought a webcam so that we can use Skype to talk to Pish’s parents and they can see Katie.

- My parent’s house is being remodeled so they’ve been staying over at our house the past couple nights.  Katie is getting some quality grandparents time.

- My mom and I are trying to come up with some new business ideas.  More details to come later. 

- Randy Chang is here visiting this weekend.

- Less than 1 week until I have to go back to work

On Sunday we went to Kennan’s 3rd birthday party at Little Gym. What a great place for kids! They get to run around and play on all different kinds of gymnastic equipment. For the birthday party, they played games, sang songs and had ice cream cake. Katie was too little to play but she loved watching them. She sat calmly for the whole time just looking around.

Last night Debbie took me to the ballet as an early birthday present! We went to watch Sleeping Beauty at the Orange County Performing Arts Center and it was really good!  The costumes were so beautiful and the dancers were amazing.  As they were dancing I couldn’t help but check out all the dancers.  They had such perfect bodies, such defined calves, and such beautiful form.  I wondered if their toes hurt though.  Also, the male dancers wore some pretty tight pants.  They either wear no underwear or they have some REALLY seamless ones.  Debbie says they wear a cup too.  I guess they do need some support when they do some of those jumps.
