Happy Anniversary!

I love you Pish!  It’s been four great years and I am so happy.  Thanks for always being there for me.  Thanks for loving me so much and thanks for just being you.  :D

**************************************************

So this year we decided to get Happy Anniversary gifts for ourselves.  We are weird like that.  hehe.  Pish got himself golf lessons and I got myself a new cell phone.  But this morning Pish suprised me with a card and news that we are going to a concert on Tuesday.  He’s still full of surprises!

Boring

Is this post partum depression or a mid-life crisis?  It’s not that I feel sad.  I’m actually pretty happy but I just I feel boring lately.  I don’t have anything fun to talk about (besides my cutie Katie).  I don’t know any gossip or drama going on.  I used to be quick with comebacks but now I’m not and I think I’m not funny anymore (maybe I never was :) ).  Even my clothes seem boring.  Every morning I feel like I have nothing to wear to work.  Boring..boring..boring…

Lucky it’s a three day weekend coming up.  Maybe some fun and shopping will pep me up!  :D

First Kiss

I had a first kiss debate with someone today.  For the first kiss, I like it when a guy asks if he can kiss you.  I think it shows respect and is much better than him just moving in on you.  But my friend thinks it is wussy if he asks.  (What do I know?  I’ve been out of the game for so long!)

Please comment and let me know what you think.  Wimpy or charming?

phew!

I’ve been hungrier lately and wanting to snack all the time.  Then the other day I kept getting light headed whenever I stood up.  What’s going on??  We decided I should take a pregancy test and…..NOT PREGNANT.  phew!  We are not ready for a second one yet.

Mohawk

We’ve gotten a lot of comments on Katie’s mohawk lately. She’s been losing a lot of hair except for the top. She has a bit of cradle cap so I think that’s why the hair on top has not fallen out yet. Maybe I’ll spike it up with some gel one of these days. :)

Clogged up

I was going to put a disclaimer saying:  If you are too embarassed to read about breasts stop reading now.  But what guy doesn’t want to talk about breasts?  :)   Well, actually this post is about clogged milk ducts.  On friday I had two hard lumps in my left breast!  At first it was just a little sore but then it really started to hurt.  I had heard about clogged milk ducts before but had never experienced it until now.  I looked online and I had all the same symptoms.  The remedy is to nurse to get the milk out (a heat pack and massage is supposed to help too).  So I nursed when I got home but it didn’t help.  Then at night I used a heat compress and pumped twice but still hard as a rock!  I could barely sleep because it was so uncomfortable.  In the morning, Katie had her 5:30am feeding and FINALLY!  Relief!  I hope I don’t this doesn’t happen again.  See how much women have to go through??

Not a fluke

Katie has slept through the night three nights in a row now!  Last night she even slept for 9 hours.  What a good baby.

Drum rollllllllll…please

Katie has become an expert roller! She has learned to kick her legs up and turn over.  Take a look.

Break through!?!

Katie hasn’t been sleeping too well at night lately.  Usually we start our nightly routine at around 9pm (Bath, feed, and then sleep).  She’ll sleep for about 6 hours but then starting at 2-3am she will wake up whining every 30-40 minutes.  I usually let her cry a little but after ten minutes I will go into her room to soothe her.  It gets pretty tiring.

In an effort to get her to sleep longer, we decided to stop swaddling her.  This way she has her hands free and hopefully would suck on her hands to soothe herself back to sleep in the middle of the night.  This didn’t help too much.

What else can we try?….Last night we moved up our night routine to an hour earlier.  Also, she seems to want more milk lately so we fed her an extra ounce (6 ounces total).  After that, we put her right into the crib and we didn’t hear her cry until 4:30am.  She slept for 8 hours straight!  After a little whining she just fell back asleep on her own.  Finally!  Katie slept through the night!  We’ll see if this schedule works again tonight or was it just a fluke?

Infant Passport Photo

Who knew it would be so difficult to take a passport photo?   Yesterday we took Katie to AAA to get her passport photo taken.  When we got there, we were informed that they were only set up to take adult photos.  ok…..So the lady recommended we go to JC Penny’s portrait studio.  That was the only place she knew that would take passport photos for infants.  So we headed over to JC Penny’s.  When we go there the lady told us that she could take it but when they zoomed in enough for the passport photo requirements, the photo would come out blurry.  um….no thanks!  But she did ensure us that they took very clear christmas photos and asked us to come back again soon.  She also recommended that we go to Walgreens for the passport photo.  This time we called first before heading over.  A high school kid answered and I asked if they took passport picture for infants.  He said, “Sure, if they sit still.”  argh…So I asked him how we would do it since she doesn’t sit up well by herself.  He said he had no idea since he had never done it before.   Nevermind….Next we headed over to Costco.  We asked if they could take the picture and they said yes.  yay!  :)   Pish’s hands could not be in the picture so his hands were underneath Katie’s dress while he held her up over his head.  The guy snapped the photo but the 1st one didn’t turn out good.  So he took another and here is the finished result.  Check out that double chin!  :D
