Backseat

I’ve driven a couple times where it is just me driving and Katie is in the back crying.  It’s so hard!  I always want to pull over but usually I just tough it out.  Eventually she falls asleep but sometimes she cries so hard that she chokes.  It really kills me.

I think she is used to someone sitting with her because usually Pish drives and I sit in the back.  But very soon, we’ll be taking Katie to my mom’s house everyday and I’ll have to drive home alone with her.  I don’t think I’ll be able to handle her crying everytime.  So today I decided we needed to start training her to sit in the back herself.

Pish wanted to go to the driving range so I sat in the front seat.  About halfway there she started to whine and cried a little.  Not bad.  Then on the way back, it was bad.  She cried HARD the whole way.  I tried talking to console her but nothing worked.  It was killing me inside.   Once we got back, I looked at her sad little face and felt so guilty.  I hope she’s not mad at me…..

Katie smiled at me when I went into her room this morning. I guess we are still friends. :)

Brandon cried almost every time he was in the car (Pish may remember the ride in Hawaii). One of the music toys helped, but only a little. He finally stopped when we turned the carseat around (he was 1). I think he was just bored and didn’t like looking only at the backseat. Hope Katie gets used to it more quickly than Brandon did!
