Last week, Katie had a couple big poop explosions that squirted up her back. It might be time to give up on Huggies and try Pampers. Before we buy a big box we wanted to test it out. So Sherri gave us some extra size 2’s that she had. So we used only Pampers in anticipation of an explosion. Friday…nothing. Saturday…nothing. Sunday….nothing. Poop already baby!! So we are out of Pampers now and as of this morning she hadn’t pooped yet. Poor kid…. We’ll probably switch to Pampers anyways. Huggies just wasn’t cutting it.

Katie is about 4.5 months old now and is growing fast. I had to pack away her 3 month old clothes and washed all her 6 month old ones. Check out these cute cargo pants (from Aunty Debbie). She got mistaken as a boy wearing these pants though. A blind old guy at the driving range said, “Hey, we have some clubs that are just the right size for him”. HIM?? I couldn’t think of a response quick enough so I decided to just ignore him and leave the store.

Recently someone asked me if I have been buying a lot of clothes for Katie and I honestly haven’t. Well, except for last weekend at the Carlsbad outlets when I got a bunch of great deals (especially on a cute velour outfit for this winter).
Then this week I was online buying Katie’s halloween costume and they had a promotion where you get Free Shipping if you spend a certain amount. So I HAD to add a couple more items to my cart.
Also, this week I received this coupon. 30% off and it is Gymbucks time. You get a $25 worth of gymbucks if you spend $50. I think I’ll have to stop by the mall at lunch time today. Feel free to print and use this coupon. Happy Shopping!!

I’ve driven a couple times where it is just me driving and Katie is in the back crying. It’s so hard! I always want to pull over but usually I just tough it out. Eventually she falls asleep but sometimes she cries so hard that she chokes. It really kills me.
I think she is used to someone sitting with her because usually Pish drives and I sit in the back. But very soon, we’ll be taking Katie to my mom’s house everyday and I’ll have to drive home alone with her. I don’t think I’ll be able to handle her crying everytime. So today I decided we needed to start training her to sit in the back herself.
Pish wanted to go to the driving range so I sat in the front seat. About halfway there she started to whine and cried a little. Not bad. Then on the way back, it was bad. She cried HARD the whole way. I tried talking to console her but nothing worked. It was killing me inside. Once we got back, I looked at her sad little face and felt so guilty. I hope she’s not mad at me…..

We got Katie’s passport this past weekend. When we initially turned in the application, they said it would take 14-16 weeks. Well, I guess they don’t have a backlog anymore because we got it in 2 weeks! Their systems are not in order though because a day after we go the passport, we got a letter saying they received our application and would start processing it. Oh well…we got the passport and Katie is now free to leave the country!

This past weekend we got to see some friends. First we saw Dave, Robyn and Brandon on Saturday. We met at South Coast Plaza and walked around. Brandon is getting big! Too bad I forgot to take some pictures.
Then on Sunday we met up with Gavin, Traci, and Faith for lunch. Faith is such a cutie and loved playing with Katie.

I just got a call from Pish and I was laughing so hard I was crying. Pish is at home with Katie today. Her schedule is a little off so I think he was a bit frazzled. Usually I feed her at 5am and her next feeding is at 9am. But this morning she was so knocked out that I didn’t want to wake her up.
After I left for work, she woke up and ate at 6:45am. But she ate less than usual. According to Pish, she started fussing two hours later but it seemed too early for her to be hungry so he tried playing with her. After about 30 minutes she cried and cried. So he made her a 4 oz bottle (she usually eats 5 oz) since it was so soon. She downed it and wanted more. So pish gave her another 2 oz but she still wanted even more! Again, Pish gave her another 2 oz. She ate 8 ounces! This is when Pish called me. He was trying to burp her and she was whining. Did she want even more??? He kept asking Katie all these questions. Do you want more? Baby, why are you still hungry? Should I give you another ounce? Do you know that they don’t even make 9 oz bottles? What’s wrong???
I guess you had to be there but it was SO funny! Daddy daycare must be more work than Pish thought. It wasn’t even 10am yet and he was exhausted.

When I first got pregnant I thought would breastfeed for at least a year. But now that Katie is here and I am back to work, I’m not so sure anymore. I enjoy the feedings I have with her in the morning and afternoons but pumping twice a day at work is kind of a pain. So I’m thinking I’ll just go until the end of this year. That would mean 8 months. Is this selfish? I feel bad because I have milk for Katie, I’m just too lazy to pump it out. I know breast milk is good for her but formula has all the vitamins she needs right?
Well, yesterday, I started to think about breastfeeding in a different light. Breastfeeding could be synonomous with working out. I realized that I pretty much lost all my pregnancy weight from breastfeeding (it can burn up to 500 calories a day). So if I don’t breastfeed anymore, I will probably have to start exercising to stay in shape. Why not just keep breastfeeding then? I don’t even need to break a sweat!
and of course Katie will be getting all the nutrients she needs. hehe

Pish’s parents were in town visiting this past weekend. They hadn’t seen Katie for 2 months so they were very excited. We made sure that grandma and grandpa had some quality time with Katie.
Happy birthday grandma!
Here’s grandpa changing his first diaper and he did a great job!
Katie had some new tricks this weekend too. She used to only be able to roll over to the left but Grandma taught her to roll over on her right side too!

Shout outs to SFS! Who knew that Santa Fe Springs would be so happening on a Tuesday night?
Last night, Pish and I headed out to Santa Fe Springs to watch a concert with Brian McKnight and Boyz II Men. There were no assigned seats and online we could not find a view of the seating chart. When we got there we realized why. The concert was in a open area at the Santa Fe Springs Town Center. It was just a concreate area in between the post office and library (I think) and the seating was just white folding chairs. But pretty much every seat was a good seat. (However, we did have a tree blocking a little of our view). At around 8pm, Boyz II Men came out and performed a bunch of their old songs and a song from their new album. They were ok. The highlight of the night was Brian McKnight. I always knew he was a good singer but he really WOWed me. He interacted with the crowd a lot and made it feel like it was a personal concert just for us. His two sons even came out to sing a little and they were great too.
We had a great time but didn’t get home until 11pm (WAY past our normal bedtime). I really missed Katie all day and wanted to hug and kiss her but didn’t want to risk waking her up. So she got lots of kisses this morning.
Special thanks to my mom and dad for babysitting for us!
