Katie Update

Major milestone today!  Katie is able to sit up on her own!

Here’s some other updates:

- Even after trying Huggies and Pampers, she’s still has exploding poops so we decided to move her up to size 3’s.  We’ll see if these Kirkland size 3’s do a better job

-  She’s drooling a lot and likes to suck on her big toe

-  Woke up a lot the past couple nights.  2am…3am…4am…  We think she’s either teething or it’s a growth spurt.

-  She’s been eating more (a whole extra feeding per day).  She’s been hungry!

Teeth

Katie might be teething soon.  She drools alot and puts everything in her mouth these days.  But check out Ryan’s teeth (or lack of…)!  He’s missing three now!  I wonder if the tooth fairy was generous?  :)

Highchair

We finally brought out the highchair.  Katie can now sit with us at the dinner table.  The straps are still a little big but she seems to like it and will sit there for a while.

Weekend

This past weekend we had a lot going on. On Friday night, Doug came up for a teeth cleaning. Afterwards we had a yummy dinner at Honda-ya. Thanks to Jorell and Tisha for all the recommendations! On Saturday morning, we picked up Debbie Yeh at the train station and headed down to San Diego for lunch at my bro’s house. We had a late bday celebration for Doug.  At night we caught up on a bunch of our tivo shows since we hadn’t been home all week.  Kitchen Nightmares is a great show.  Gordon Ramsay goes to restaurants that are on the brink of closing down and helps them improve their business.  I love how he is rude and so honest.

On sunday, it was Debbie’s turned to get her teeth cleaned.  Then after running some errands we went home to finish unpacking the house.

Since it’s been colder at night lately, Katie’s hands have been cold in the mornings.   So we bought a space heater for her room.  Last night her room was nice and cozy but she kept waking up (2am…3-something…4am…4:15….).  I hope she’s not getting sick.  The room was warm but now it’s dry.  Do we need a humidifier too??

Here’s some pictures from saturday.

Last last weekend

Irene was in town and we had lunch with her and a bunch of other people.  Here are some pics from King’s Hawaiian.

Clean house

I haven’t been good about blogging this week.  Nothing too exciting going on.

Earlier this week we had our house tented for termites.  After I posted about it, I was a little worried about announcing to the world that we weren’t going to be home.  Was I just asking for someone to break in to our house?  But then I thought about it and who would want to break into a house that was filled with toxic gas?  :)

I took a day off work yesterday to clean up the house and unpack everything.  No one broke in.  :)   Our plan was to get everything cleaned up and then to move back in but we realized that we forgot to call the Gas Company to turn the gas back on.  argh… So they are coming today between 7am-5pm.  What kind of ridiculous time block is that??

If you were hoping to break in because we weren’t home, you are too late.  We’ll be home today.  :)

Spoiled

Living at my parent’s house has been pretty plush. Our commutes are shorter and my mom cooks yummy food for us.   Also I get to have a glass of wine with my dad at dinner and after, we all enjoy some dessert while watching Dancing with the Stars or the Singing Bee.  :)   My mom and dad shouldn’t spoil us so much!  We may never leave.

Back HOME

We’ve moved into my mom and dad’s house this week because our house has termites and we are having the tenting fumigation done starting today.  So yesterday we bagged up a bunch of stuff, packed up all of Katie’s things, and moved to Fountain Valley.  The tent goes up today, it gets aired out for two days and we’ll most likely move back in on Thursday.

It was nice getting up a little later this morning and having a short, less than 15 minute local streets commute to work.  Also, Katie did well in the pack n play last night.  She slept through the whole night and didn’t even know we weren’t at home.

Cute enough?

This morning Sherri told me the Gap casting call.  The annual Casting Call Contest is a nationwide search for the cutest babies and kids to become babyGap and GapKids models.  All we have to do is submit some photos.

How It Works:
A panel of judges will narrow all entries received down to 20 finalists (5 boys, 5 girls, 5 baby boys, and 5 baby girls). Those finalists will be voted on by the public from November 20, 2007 through December 15, 2007. The children who receive the most votes in each category will be announced as winners in January 2008.

Should we attempt to make Katie a star???

Here’s a link to the current Casting Call gallery.  Time to size up the competition!

Laughing

Usually Pish is the one that can get Katie to laugh out loud. It’s really cute seeing them play together but I am never fast enough to catch it on video.

Yesterday I was finally able to get her to laugh too!  Next time you see Katie, try to give her a high five. :)
