Tests
November 21st, 2008Katie has learned to test us lately. I’ll tell her not to touch something and then a minute later, she’ll look at me and touch it (testing to see what I’ll do). Well, yesterday she was putting a toy in her mouth and I said no. She looked and me and purposely put it her mouth again. I yelled at her and she started to whine. I told her if she did it one more time, I would take the toy away. Within a couple minutes she did it again. So…bye bye toy! I grabbed it and she started screaming and stomping her feet. She rarely cries that hard but we were not going to give in. Since she kept disobeying us, Pish put her into her first Time Out. She did not like this at all. More screaming and more stomping. Then she cried so hard, she threw up. Poor kid. Red puke all over the carpet. I guess she hadn’t digested those strawberries yet.
I have a feeling this is just the beginning….

i guess gotta keep in mind not to feed her too much before timeout… we knew a kid who would throw up every time when punished. They really know how to get their way…
I work with lots of kids who can puke on demand. It’s a lot easier than it looks. Stick to your guns! It’ll be painful to watch at first but it should pay off.
Katie’s Dad’s first time-out drew mw ugly looks fromhis nanny, but i stuck to my gun and look at what we have now!
Wait until she learns about beef jerky. Then, like Kennan before, she won’t give any out.
Poor Katie
