Thanks Auntie Tisha!

Thank you to Auntie Tisha for the supercute handmade skirt!  Katie saw it in her drawer and had to wear it.

Weekend

We had a busy weekend that included Dinner club at our house Friday, my bro’s 40th birthday party on Saturday, and visiting 1 year old Jeremy on sunday.

Even though Katie had another rash on Friday afternoon, our brave Dinner Club crew still decided to come to our house for dinner.  We had yummy pot roast (thanks to my mom for helping with this and thanks to Pish for peeling three whole carrots).  The kids had lots of fun with all of Katie’s toys and thanks to Auntie Yuewen for the cute shirts for the girls.

On Saturday,  Auntie Debbie and Auntie Jos came over to babysit Katie.  She loves her aunties so much that she didn’t even care when we left.  We headed down to my bro’s house for his 40th birthday party.  Can you believe it?  4…0…that’s old!  Liz hosted quite an elaborate fiesta which included a taco cart guy, a margarita machine, and lots of tequila for drinks.

On Sunday we headed out to Arcadia to visit Jeremy who turned one last week.  Sorry we missed your birthday party but it was fun visiting!  Katie really liked your legos and Pish really liked your daddy’s TV.  :D

Rough week

Katie is having a bit of a rough week.  Fever Monday and fever Tuesday.  The doctor thought it was just a cold though.  Wednesday she went to school but was pretty grouchy in the afternoon.  Today after school, I noticed a small rash on her back.  It was the size of a finger nail.  I didn’t think too much about it but when we got home, I checked again and it HUGE.  It was red, lumpy and hot.  I started to freak out a little bit but calmed down and thought maybe it was just an allergic reaction.  Katie didn’t show any signs of pain or itching though.  I touched the rash and she didn’t even care.  What tough kid.

Just at that moment, the phone rang and it was my mom.  How does she have these superpower mom senses???  She knew exactly when I needed her.  She calmed me down, told me to give her the benadryl, and to give her a warm bath with baking soda.  I followed all her instructions and in about 30-45 minutes, the whole thing was completely gone.  The benadryl must have kicked in.  I still don’t know what caused it though.  She hadn’t eaten anything since lunchtime.  So random…

Favorite Auntie

Sorry Ishya…You will always be her favorite Giftay but if you ask Katie who her favorite Auntie is, it’s still Auntie Debbie.

I love Mammoth!

This past weekend, I went to mammoth and was able to snowboard in some knee-high powder.  It was AWESOME!  I had lots of fun in the snow and lots of fun with the old MVP crew.  I always have fun when I’m with them (I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt).  I missed Pish and Katie a lot though.  Pish sent me a bunch of pictures throughout the weekend.  Here’s my favorite.

23months

Katie update:  She has had a fever for the past two days.  She acts fine but is warm.  She’s at grandma’s house today and I plan on taking her to the doctor when the office opens.

Snow?

This morning we walked outside to THICK morning fog (we couldn’t even see the house across the street).  It was a blanket of white fog.

Katie said, “Snow!  mommy…snow!!”  :)   Maybe I should take her to mammoth with me this weekend so she can play in some real snow.

Katie’s art project at school was a hat.  :)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I had a cute green outfit for Katie today but she was coughing on the way to school and she coughed so hard, she puked.  So her outfit was ruined.  :(   Now she’s wearing a set of backup clothes we left in Pish’s car.  Lucky I had a green hair clip for her so she still has some green on!

Update

Kate is doing much better.  No more fever over the weekend and she was acting normal.  If I ask her if she has an owwie, she points to her ear and says dada fixed it.  With water.  Dada’s nose is big.  hahaha.  When we were flushing out her ear at the doctor’s office, I was holding her head from behind and Pish was in front.  I told her to look at dada’s nose and at one one point I asked her if it was big.  I guess she didn’t realized the nurse was doing the irrigation of her ears.  Now when I ask her if her owwie hurts, she says dada has a big nose.  :)

On Friday, I had a parent/teacher conference at Katie’s school.  I was a little nervous.  How much did they really have to say?  Katie is not even 2 yet!  Well, it was painless and went well.  They said she is good in school, participates in group work, sings songs, and does her individual work.  The only thing is that she is really sleepy and can get grumpy at around 11am.  She probably still needs two naps.  :(   The other thing is that she will hold one piece of tissue all day long.  They said she won’t let go of it.  I guess it’s her security blanket during the day.  :)
