Birthday weekend

A big thanks to everyone for the the birthday wishes and gifts for Katie.  She loved it all!

All the festivities started on Thursday (her actual birthday).  I surprised her at school during snack time.  The school has a strict no sugar policy so I brought bagels and fruit.  She was very surprised and the class sang happy birthday to her.  But she was pretty sad when it was time for me to go back to work.

Pish’s parents came in on Thursday night along with Uncle Randy.  Billy and Ishya arrived on Friday and we had a full house.  The party was on Saturday!  I went a little overboard with the Mickey theme.  Here are some of the items I got:  a birthday shirt for Katie, a minnie mouse hair clip, mickey mouse airwalk balloons, homemade mickey coloring books, mickey ears for the kids (and adults), mickey mouse chicken nuggets, mickey rice krispies (thanks Ishya), mickey mouse shaped ice cubes in the punch, and much more!  But the highlight of the party was the Hawaiian Shaved Ice.  Thanks to Hula girls Shave Ice for all the yummy flavors.  My favorite was ice cream on the bottom, half dreamcicle, half watermelon and LOTS of condensed milk on top!

On Saturday night we went out to LA and partied in honor of Katie.  :)   The festivities continued on Sunday when Katie continued to open presents got two gold fish from Auntie Giftay and Uncle Billy.  They are named Harvard and Yale.  Uncle Billy thinks Harvard will be Katie’s backup school.  ;)
