Summer break

Katie had a week off school last week.  It was summer break and she had lots of fun at my parent’s house.  Here’s some pics from my mom.  Click HERE to see the full set of pictures.

Katie loves wearing my Cabbage Patch kid’s shoes.

Weekend

This past Saturday we finally got to meet Baby Olivia (Jung & Chris’ daughter).  She is adorable and Katie really liked her too.  Thanks to Chris’ mom for cooking us a DELICIOUS lunch!

We also had dinner club this Sunday.  After eating some tasty fried chicken and yummy Porto’s cheese rolls, we headed over to the neighborhood park for some water fun!  Noah is the youngest and was definitely the bravest.  He ran right up to the water.  Katie on the other hand, was more of an observer.  Maybe next time she’ll jump in there more.

Sand and Water Table

I’ve been eyeing a Sand and Water table for a long time now.  Initially, I wanted to get it for Katie for her birthday but she got so many gifts I figured I would hold off.  Lucky I waited because they have a great deal at Sam’s Club.  It is $79 at Toys R US, $73 at Amazon and $52.54 online at Sam’s club (shipping included!).

Click HERE to see more details about the table.

Here’s some pics Pish took today.  Not sure why the table causes her to make funny faces though.  I wish I was at home playing with sand…

Hate missing out

I always love being part of the action and hate missing out on fun.  Another thing I hate is missing out on is Katie’s milestones.  She’s growing up so fast and I can’t keep up!  Today she was at swim class and Pish texted me that she can now jump into the pool herself, flip over and float on her back for 10 seconds.  Goooo Katie!  I wish I was there to see it.

  • Alive?

Katie woke up at 6:30am today!  Shocker because she NEVER sleeps past 6am.  I had to keep asking pish to check the monitor to see if he could hear her breathing.  When she was a baby, I used to put my finger under her nose to see if I could feel her breath.

Luckily she was alive and finally woke up.  Now if we can just train her to sleep in on weekends…

    Books

I used to read LOTS of books when I was younger.  I remember I loved going to the library with my mom to pick out new books to read.  As I got older, I read less and less.  I’m not sure if it was laziness or just less free time (probably a little of both).  I also have a really short attention span and I can’t sit still for long.

Ishya recently told me about some good books and she lent me a few.  They are quick reads and really suck you in after the first chapter.  The author knows how to grab your attention and I seriously could not put the book down (the Boston flight was 6 hours so I read most of it on the plane).  I read the two below and I have two more to go by the same author.   Click on the picture for more details on the book.

    Weekend

Our Boston wedding was fun.  We spent lots of time with Pish’s high school friends and had some good laughs.  I missed Katie so much though!  This was the first time both Pish and I were away from her for a whole weekend.  I don’t think she missed us much though.  We were told she didn’t even ask for us until Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to Pish’s parents for coming down to babysit Katie.  Not being around kids that often, I think the had their hands full with a toddler.  Grandpa learned that 2 year olds say “No” alot.  hehe.  Katie had lots of fun playing with them and with an Aunt visiting from Thailand.
