Oh Baby!

An exclusive for my loyal blog readers!!! We had a doctor appointment today and it’s official…..we are expecting our second baby!

8weeks

I’m almost 9 weeks along and my due date is September 13th.  We are really excited!

I didn’t have morning sickness with Katie but I am having some this time.  I am not vomiting but I am nauseous most of the day.  The doctor said they could prescribe me some drugs but I’d rather not take any.

When we told Katie that mommy had a baby in her belly she said, “No…can the baby be in dada’s belly?”  It was so cute.  She’s ready to be a big sister and wants to kiss the baby all the time.   We even took her to the ultrasound today.  I’m not sure she understood the picture.  Pish called the baby a chocolate chip but the ultrasound tech corrected him and said gummy bear.  :)

I did have a slight scare at 5 weeks though.  I started to feel some muscle tightening in my lower right abdomen.  It was not a cramp but just a tightening when I moved certain ways or coughed.  I called the nurse but luckily she said it was completely normal.

It was the ligament that holds up the uterus.  As the uterus grows a person might feel some tightening of the ligaments in the left, right or center.  She asked if i had a child before because i would not have felt this during my first.  It is most common after you’ve already had a baby before.  I would only need to worry if I have spotting, dizziness, and shoulder pain (then it could be a ectopic pregnancy).  Luckily I have NONE of those symptoms.  phew!

I started blogging in September 2006 when I found out I was pregnant with Katie.  Here we go again!  :)

YAY!!!!! So excited for you guys. Sorry we missed you this trip. The weather was a yucky so we didn’t bother to ask you guys to join us (just like last year!) Little did we know Pish/Katie were there on Friday.

congrats to you, Pish, and Katie – so exciting! This little one will be almost exactly 2 years younger than Seamus (9/16/08). Hope the nausea ends soon… no fun feeling ill all day.
oh – something I did with Finn when I was preggers with Seamus – I recorded “Bringing Home Baby” on TLC (I think?) so Finn could see other families/kids welcoming a new baby into the home. He called it the “Crying Baby Show”… as in, “Mommy, Can I watch the crying baby show?!” ha!

Congrats to you all again – yea!

Great idea Jodie! I’ll start recording some “Bringing home baby” episodes. I liked watching those when I was preggo with Katie.
