Easter Catch up

On Easter Sunday, we all spent the day at my mom’s house.  We started with some cupcake decorating and then headed outside for the Easter egg hunt.  We had so much fun running around, we didn’t even feel the 7 point something earthquake.  Later we did some paper crafts and we were hungry by then!  Of course we had a tasty meal that included:  ham, steak, and Sing’s famous lamb.  Click HERE to see all the pics.

Christmas/New Year’s 2009

I’m so sad the holidays are over.  It is my favorite time of year.  This year we took a week and a half off but didn’t go anywhere (well, except for a short trip to San Diego).  Usually we always travel for our vacations but this year it just felt like a really long weekend at home and I completely lost track of the days of the week.  :)

On Christmas eve, I wrapped gifts and go everything ready.  Katie and I left two cookies out for Santa.  She was so excited.  If you had asked her what she wanted Santa to bring her, she said, “Hungry Hungry Hippo”.  She saw the box once in Target and asked me what it was.  I have no idea how she remembered that.

After opening gifts we headed to my mom’s house for lunch and dinner.  The whole family was there and it was fun eating, drinking and hanging out with everyone.

The next week, we went to San Diego for two days.  We stayed at the Embassy Suites using points.  It’s such a great deal.  They have free hot breakfast in the mornings and a Manager Reception every afternoon (That means open bar and snacks).  On Tuesday we headed to SeaWorld with my bro’s family.  Katie liked it there.  There were so many animals and they had kids rides for her.  Her favorite part was the Pet’s Rule show.  Lots of trained dogs, cats and pigs.  It’s amazing how they train all these animals.  After a long day we invited my bro over to booze it up at the Manager’s Reception.  Later we walked (yes I walked) about a half a mile to a yummy restaurant called Cafe Sevilla.  The food was tasty!

The next day we went to SeaWorld again for half a day.  On the way home we picked up Kennan whom we would be babysitting for new years eve.  It was rainy and gloomy but Katie was so excited to have Kennan at her house for a sleepover.  Plus I was excited because when Kennan is over, Katie just runs off with her and they play so well together.  If only they lived closer to us….

On New Year’s eve, I took Kennan and Katie the Pretend City in Irvine.  They LOVED it.  It’s a whole pretend city that is just their size.  They had a grocery store, gas station, post office, bank, garden and a lot more!  They also did a special countdown and ball drop for new years.

Happy New Year!

One of the new toys we got for Christmas was the Flip video camera.  Thanks to all the cool family members that got one for us.  We are actually using it more than I thought we would.  All the videos here were taken with this new camera.  Even katie knows how to take her own videos.

New Year’s Resolutions

A while back, I made a New Year’s Resolution to take the stairs at work.  Up in the mornings and always stairs going down.  Well, four years later I’m still doing it!  Not that it is made any difference in my butt size but I guess it could be bigger if I hadn’t been doing this.  So my this year’s resolution is to continue the previous year’s resolutions.  A bigger butt would be scary!

Anyone one else have any butt resolutions?

Thanksgiving pics

I’m WAY behind on posting and am trying to catch up.

We spent Thanksgiving at my mom’s house with all the cousins and all the kids.  They all play so well together.  We also had the pleasure of watching Ryan play in baseball tournament.  It was so convenient that the tournament was in Fountain Valley.  Great Job Ry!!

Easter pics

I haven’t had much time to post this week but here’s some catch up from last weekend.  My bro and family stayed at our house on Saturday night after we attended a Chinese wedding banquet.  Then on Sunday we celebrated Easter at my mom’s house.  The kids colored some eggs and we filled some plastic ones too.  After a yummy Easter lunch, we had an easter egg hunt.  Katie had lots of fun with her cousins!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I had a cute green outfit for Katie today but she was coughing on the way to school and she coughed so hard, she puked.  So her outfit was ruined.  :(   Now she’s wearing a set of backup clothes we left in Pish’s car.  Lucky I had a green hair clip for her so she still has some green on!

Ting Christmas party

This past saturday we attended the annual Ting Christmas party. I think the non-kid couples were a little surprised because there were kids everywhere! It was really fun seeing everyone and the food was awesome. I went for three helpings of the mac n cheese. Not too good for my thighs but it’s the holidays right??

Here’s some pics of the kids. It was so cute because all the little girls were in dresses. Katie wore a cute dress that my mom gave her but it was a bit long. I thought she looked like a polygamist wife (I recently watched a polygamy documentary) and Regina said Rachel looked like a puritan. haha…whatever they were wearing, they were adorable. :)

Christmas time!

I always love christmas time. Jolly music, beautiful decorations, and presents! Well, this year we decided not to get a tree since we won’t be here on Christmas day. :( I’m a little sad about that but I put up our other decorations today. The mantle is all decorated and stockings are up. That makes me smile.

Here’s my virtual tree this year…

Labor Day weekend

Ever wonder why we have a Labor day holiday?  I did.  So I looked it up.  Here’s what I found:  Labor Day is a United States Federal Holiday observed on the first Monday in September. The holiday originated in 1882 as the Central Labor Union (of New York City) sought to create “a day off for the working citizens”.

We had a fun labor day weekend full of weddings, birthdays and anniversaries!  yep…Pish and I had our 5th wedding anniversary on Sunday.  Time really flies when you are having fun!  Five years ago, we were celebrating with our family and friends and were headed off to our group honeymoon in hawaii.  This year, we celebrated my friend Ryan’s wedding in Napa and are headed to hawaii later this week for Leon’s wedding!

Special thanks to Pish’s parents, Ishya and Billy for babysitting Katie.  We were able to enjoy the beautiful wedding, stay over night, and even golf the next day.  (I can’t even remember the last time I golfed!)  Then later that night I found out that Pish had a surprise anniversary dinner planned for the two of us.  I was excited but since we don’t go up north that often, I wanted to spend more time with everyone.  So we invited them all to join us at our yummy steak dinner.  Plus it was Pish’s mom’s birthday.  Another reason to celebrate!

Fireworks are not for 14 months olds….

 …well, at least not mine.

July 4th weekend was pretty fun.  We went down to San Diego for a sleepover at my brother’s house.  We had planned to go the the beach but decided to stay home because of all the fog.  So instead we blew up a kiddie pool and brought out some water toys.  The kids had a great time while the adults got to eat, drink and play games.

Later that night we headed out to watch fireworks.  My brother told us it would be a short hike up a mountain.  Well, as we started hiking we realized it wasn’t short and it was a STEEP hike in some places.  As most people know, I am NOT a hiker.  Poor P had Katie in the bjorn and I was behind him to make sure he didn’t fall.  The hike had to have been at least 25 -30 minutes long.  So when we finally got to the destination it was getting pretty dark.  Katie was delirious (it was way past her bedtime) and wanted to run around everywhere.  I picked her up to keep her from falling in the dirt but she started squirming and screaming.  She was not a happy camper.  So just as the fireworks started, her screaming got louder.  I felt bad for all the other people up there watching so Pish, my mom and I decided just to take Katie back down the mountain.  After screaming for 3/4 of the way back, she fell asleep.  Poor kid…I guess she wasn’t ready for fireworks yet.

Not sure if Katie was traumatized from the night before but she was extra whiny and clingy to me the next day.  As usual, we like to blame teething.  :)
