Katie’s first day of pre-school is tomorrow. I feel like it’s my first day of school too. I’m a little nervous and also very excited for her. I’ve been preparing but I still feel like I’m forgetting something. I packed her diapers, wipes, an extra set of clothes, and a blankie. I already made her lunch of pasta and her favorite meatballs, peas/corn, and a little container of fruit. Tomorrow I just need to warm up the pasta and she should be ready to go. I bought her a cute Disney lunch container and her fruit is in a container that is shaped like Mickey Mouse’s ears. We’ll see how much of everything she really eats. The teachers will open the containers for them but will not force them to eat.

I was proud and sad at the same time today. Katie is growing up so fast!

Katie was scheduled to visit her new classroom for 30 minutes without me today. I had no idea how she would do. So I dropped her off with her teacher (Miss Ana) and she was fine. They sat in the circle for a few minutes and Katie just looked around at the other kids. Then she realized I wasn’t there anymore and started crying. The teacher soothed her and she was fine. I peeked through the window but she would keep looking for me. So decided to just wait in the car. I went in 30 minutes later and the teacher said she was doing really well and might as well stay through snack time. So I went back to the car for another 30 minutes. Again, I went inside and the teacher said she was still doing great and if I wanted, Katie could stay through their classwork time. Sure! So Katie ended up staying for a total of 2 hours. When I finally went inside to get her, she was sitting in a little chair at a little table doing her work. She’s growing up so fast! I told her it was time to go and she started to say good bye to the teachers and to the other kids.

On another note, if anyone is wondering….Katie pooped twice today. Usually we are happy if she poops once a day. So today we are extra happy. Yay Katie!:)

Katie’s new school lets new students visit the classroom a few times before they start so that the kids aren’t too shocked on their first day. So on Friday, we visited Katie’s school and got to meet her teacher (Miss Ana). She was really nice. She talked to us a little about the schedule, showed us the classroom, let us look at some of the Montesorri work projects, and answered all our questions. Afterwards, we let Katie look at the playground where the other kids were and two girls immediately came over and wanted to show her around. When it was time to leave, Katie cried. I guess it’s a good sign if she doesn’t want to leave.

We have another 15 minute meeting with the teacher on Monday and then Tuesday, Katie goes into the classroom (without us) for 30 minutes. Let’s hope that goes well!

I have been lazy with the picture taking and uploading lately. sorry…Here’s a little catch up.

Katie got professional haircut #2. We tried another kids place and it was $3 cheaper than the mall place we went to last time. I’ve been trimming her bangs since her last cut but they weren’t really even. These bangs are a bit short for my taste but I guess I won’t have to trim them for a while!

Katie’s ready for school! I found this backpack online and had to get it. Katie starts school in January and I wanted her to have a backpack for her toys on our vacation. Isn’t is cute?!?! Katie loves her monkeys.

It took Katie 19 months to figure out how…but she is finally sleeping in past 6am! This weekend it was 6:20am but anything is better than 5am. Pish says he still wakes up at 5 because he’s used to it but I’ve been enjoying the extra sleep. I hope I didn’t just jinx myself for tomorrow morning…

I had a very productive weekend. On top of having a great Thanksgiving and spending time with family, I was able to post all my new Cupcake Cuddles products, I got the 2nd edition of my newsletter sent out and we have fully launched weefinds.com. It’s all so much fun! It’s keeping me busy and I’m sleeping WAY later than usual but I’m loving it. Thanks to Pish for being so supportive with all my “projects”.

I haven’t had a Katie update in a little while so here you go…
- She counts 1-10 now but she says “What” for one
- She know her colors and shapes
- We are working on the alphabet
- She is slowly transitioning herself to one nap a day. We had some issues with putting her down for her naps this past weekend.
- Saturday was her brattiest day ever. I think it was the first time Pish and I were really pushed to our limits. She cried, stomped her feed, swung her arms and just didn’t listen to us. I think I was partly due to her having less naps though. Luckily it only lasted one day.
- She LOVES mickey mouse lately
- We talk about using the potty every day but she still hasn’t done it successfully yet.
- She used to make a loud “Muh!” sound when giving you a kiss but now it’s just a polite little peck. I guess she’s growing up…

We had a jam-packed weekend. First, Uncle Jorell came for a visit on friday night. Katie had so much fun with him. Then on Saturday we headed down to Carlsbad to celebrate Ryan’s 8th birthday. Of course we had to stop at the outlets on the way down for a little shopping. Katie loved playing with her cousins and with all of Kennan’s toys.

On Sunday we had a playdate with four other little girls at our house. It was so fun to see everyone! At first the girls kind of played on their own but eventually started to play with each other. It was really cute. Surprisingly we were able to keep them still for a group photo too!
