Build and Grow

Every two weeks, Lowes has a Build and Grow workshop for kids.  They get an apron, goggles and a project.  After the project is completed, you go back to the counter and you get a patch to show you completed the project to iron onto your apron.  Katie has two now but some kids have over 20!  This past weekend, the project was a school bus.  Daddy did most of the work but Katie still had fun.

Frogs!

Yesterday we visited the Muzeo musuem to check out the Frog exhibit.  They had documentary for you to watch, interactive displays, live frogs to see and read about and a kids area to play in.  Katie and Pish’s mom loved it.  We all learned a lot of new things about frogs.  Did you know some bull frogs eat rodents and small mammals?

Here’s a pic of my favorite frog

After I took the picture, Katie insisted on taking one too.  Good aim but a little blurry. :)

Later that afternoon we played outside.  Katie wanted to ride her bike (doesn’t she look like such a big girl here??)  and I wanted to walk.  I’m hoping walking will induce labor!

All Fresh

Monkey (or Ah..ah as she used to call it) used to be Katie’s favorite stuffed animal until she discovered Care Bears.  I was good about washing monkey and keeping him clean but the care bear was a little more delicate (there are Swvarski crystals in the eyes) so I was hesitant.  Her stuffing was already flattening and I was worried about putting her in the wash. But recently she wasn’t looking too good.  I googled how to wash stuffed animals and a few sites said to put the animal into a pillowcase, tying a knot and putting it through a normal wash/dry.  I tried it this weekend and it worked great!  It really protected the bears and now they look great and smell fresh!

Weekend

We spent this weekend relaxing and spending time with the family.  Pish’s parents are in town visiting and my family came over for dinner on Friday.  We had some yummy food and my mom threw us a surprise baby shower which included an ice cream cake!  Thanks everyone!

On Saturday, Pish’s aunt came over and brought lots of Thai food (my favorite Hainan Chicken and Rice and Pish’s favorite Mango and sticky rice).  Thanks!

I ate really well this weekend….

Pool party/birthday

I’m behind on posting again but last last weekend we had a pool party to celebrate our new home.  It also happened to be my birthday.  We celebrated with friends, family and a taco cart guy!  It was fun seeing everyone.

I haven’t taken many pics of my belly this pregnancy but here’s one below to show you how big I’m getting (and I like Katie’s expression).

iPad!!

Pish bought me an early push gift last night.  A new iPad!!  This makes up for not getting a push gift last time.  :)

We have been talking about getting one for a while but it is such a “nice to have”.  Then I tried to get one for his birthday but none were available.  Randomly he checked the Best Buy website last night at 8:45pm and they had one in Tustin!  He drove there immediately and was able to get it right before the store closed.

A new toy for the whole family!

Ishya & Billy weekend

Ishya & Billy visited this weekend and we had so much fun.  Lots of eating, swimming and Katie time for them.  We even made some yummy smores in our outdoor fireplace.  We miss them already!

Here are some pics from the weekend.  You can see katie’s nose boo-boo in these pics.  We let her go without a bandaid this weekend but put it back on for school this week since I don’t want her to be outside in the sun with the open wound.

Reading to Auntie Ishya:

I’m back

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything.  The last few weeks have been busy!!

So we are finally all moved in and things are finally settling down.   This was the first time we have ever used movers and it was great!  They filled 2 huge trucks and were very efficient.  They loaded all the boxes we had packed ourselves and they took apart all our furniture and put it back together at the new house.  That was awesome.  It took 4 guys 8 hours to do it all but it was SO worth it.  There was no way we could have done it ourselves.

After moving day, we had a short weekend to unpack some stuff and then we were off to Virginia for an Italian/Hindu wedding.  Pish was a groomsman and we had lots of fun.  We got there a couple days early and the boys golfed while the girls got massages.  The wedding was beautiful.  It consisted of a catholic church ceremony followed by a Hindu ceremony before the reception.  I forgot my camera but I’ll try to post some pics that other people took.  Besides the long airline delays and the 5 hour flights, it was a great weekend.  Thanks to my parents and my bro’s family that babysat Katie all weekend.  She had so much fun with them.

Since we’ve been back we are continuing to unpack boxes and got a lot done this past weekend.  We can finally fit both cars in the garage!  One of our favorite things about the house is the huge attic.  We hide all our junk up there.  ;)

Paper is off!

woo hoo!!

Doors will be done next week!

Kitchen status

I was really nervous about painting the kitchen cabinets in our new house but I really wanted to change the color to match our darker furniture.  We found a guy that is very detailed and passionate about it and so far it’s looking great.

He’ll be done next week so I’ll post AFTER pictures then.  I can’t wait until all the paper is removed and we get a full reveal!
