I finally made it! It took forever to get here but I’m finally almost full term. That means it should be safe to have the baby anytime soon. I’m still hoping he comes early!
I’ve been feeling huge lately and the baby is sitting really low. I don’t remember being this uncomfortable with Katie but I may just be more of a whiner this time. It sucks because I’m not sleeping too well at night. I just can’t find a comfortable position and my swelling is getting worse. Also my belly feels extremely heavy and I feel a lot of pelvic pressure.
Babycenter update:
Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He’s shedding most of the downy hair that covered his body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected his skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term. Most likely he’s in a head-down position.

We spent this weekend relaxing and spending time with the family. Pish’s parents are in town visiting and my family came over for dinner on Friday. We had some yummy food and my mom threw us a surprise baby shower which included an ice cream cake! Thanks everyone!
On Saturday, Pish’s aunt came over and brought lots of Thai food (my favorite Hainan Chicken and Rice and Pish’s favorite Mango and sticky rice). Thanks!

I’m behind on posting again but last last weekend we had a pool party to celebrate our new home. It also happened to be my birthday. We celebrated with friends, family and a taco cart guy! It was fun seeing everyone.
I haven’t taken many pics of my belly this pregnancy but here’s one below to show you how big I’m getting (and I like Katie’s expression).
Thanks to Jorell and Tisha who brought goodies from King’s hawaiian bakery.
Here’s Sydnie enjoying a cupcake. Makes me want to be a kid again!
Thanks to everyone who brought generous gifts. Emily, the cake pan you gave me is beautiful and my kahlua cake turned out great!

Pish bought me an early push gift last night. A new iPad!! This makes up for not getting a push gift last time.
We have been talking about getting one for a while but it is such a “nice to have”. Then I tried to get one for his birthday but none were available. Randomly he checked the Best Buy website last night at 8:45pm and they had one in Tustin! He drove there immediately and was able to get it right before the store closed.

Starting on monday I started to feel more uncomfortable. My belly was tightening more, was heavier and I had a random bloody nose. Then at night, I had really sharp lower back pain. I had to sit up but it still hurt so bad that I felt nauseous. I called my doctor’s phone nurse in the morning and she thought the baby probably just hit a nerve or something. If I needed to, I could take Tylenol. She mainly wanted to make sure that the baby was still moving (he was) and that I wasn’t having contractions. She wanted me to start monitoring and if my stomach was tightening more than 4 times in a hour to call her again.
By lunch time, the tightening was getting stronger and lasting longer so I called the doctor again. They wanted me to go in to see them. Once there, they took a urine sample and hooked me up to a fetal monitor. They said I was dehydrated and that was causing the contractions but the baby’s heartbeat was great and he was moving a lot. So after 1 hour of monitoring, they sent me home and I was told to drink lots of water and pee a lot. Also, they want me on minimal bedrest which means no sex, no strenuous activities and minimal stairs.
I’ve been drinking a lot more water and today I feel much more comfortable. To the baby: Sorry I was not hydrating you enough! I’m a bad mommy already.

Lately, Katie loves to listen to music and her favorite artists are Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Usher. I wasn’t able to get a video of her singing any Bieber songs but here are some others.

Katie started a new swim class this week. It is a 4 day a week (for 2 weeks) session near my mom’s house. The community center mandates you sign up in person. The initial registration was last saturday at 8am. I arrived early at 7:40am and there were already over 100 people in front of me. I was shocked!
There are 10 time slots a day and six levels. What are the chances that the one time slot and level I want be filled up by the time I get up to the front? Apparently very high…with 10 people left to go, they announced the time slot I wanted was full. So I had to choose an earlier time slot and my mom has to take her. I went the first day but my mom says Katie has been improving each day. Here are some pics and videos.

Benihana sent me a free dinner coupon for my bday so I told pish to sign up and he got one too. You have the whole month of your birthday to use it and of course we waited until the last week to go. We went last night and they let us use both coupons. If you like Benihana, sign up! The coupon is good for $30 off your meal (we got $60 off!)
Besides the slow servce (we sat down at 6:30pm but they didn’t even take our order until close to 7pm), it was a good dinner. Katie had fun too. Doesn’t she look like such a big girl here?

Our friends Jack and Christine have been taking their 4 yr old daughter to the movies for a while now. We had never tried because I didn’t think Katie would sit through a whole movie. Yesterday, they invited us to the $1 Tuesday movies in Woodbridge. We figured we’d try it since it would only cost us $3 total. If we had to walk out, that would be fine.
They were going to see Letters to Juliet. I wanted to see this movie but was not sure Katie would pay attention. I checked the theater and they were also playing “How To Train Your Dragon” which is a animated movie. I thought maybe Katie would like that better. Pish suggested playing the two trailers to Katie and let her decide. I did that and she immediately chose Letters to Juliet because the song in the trailer was her favorite Taylor Swift song. So we decided to give it a shot. Maybe she’d sit still if she saw Catelyn sitting.
The first hour was pretty good. She watched the movie while eating some snacks. The last half hour she moved around a lot though. They finally played her Taylor Swift song but it was short. After the scene, Katie yelled out “Why did they turn it off? Where is Taylor Swift? Why did they turn it off?” I tried to get her to whisper but she didn’t want to. Giving her more food helped get her through the end of the movie.
So as a summary, Katie’s 1st movie in a theater was not a bad experience. I’ll probably try a kids movie next though. It is definitely a bargain for $1 on Tuesdays and $2 all other days.
